My Profile

Hello everyone, I'm Natall!

This is my first post on the theme 'self introduction'.

My name is Natalia Sihombing, you can also call me Natall or Nat.

I am a student of the 2022 batch currently studying in the Development Economics program at Jember University. As part of the bilingual class, I have an extraordinary opportunity to learn in two languages simultaneously, English and Indonesian. Additionally, my emerging interest in development economics has motivated me to delve deeper into various challenges and opportunities in economic development in developing countries.

Honestly, economics has never been my choice or goal in terms of education. I am the type of person who often asks why and how things work and always seeks to find thorough and comprehensive answers to these questions. Based on that, I was determined from the beginning to major in pure biology and become a scientist or researcher. However, as if the universe had other plans for me, I eventually continued my education in the development economics program. I began to love this program in my second year or more precisely during my third semester.

Some courses that began to catch my attention made me think that a researcher is not only born from the biology department. This prompted me to truly understand every material in lectures and start expressing ideas and thoughts I have through writing, one of which is by utilizing this blog as a means to improve my writing skills.

Based on this, I am determined to pursue my dream of becoming a researcher. I feel that becoming an economic policy analyst or economic observer is one of the relevant goals with my current program of study. Although my knowledge of economics is still limited, I will continue to learn and find out things that I do not yet know. Through this blog, I hope to share my knowledge, experiences, and thoughts on topics related to economics both locally and globally. I hope this bilingual class blog can be a source of inspiration for me and readers interested in understanding the dynamics of the economy in this era of globalization, as well as motivation for myself to continue learning so that I can become a researcher in the future.

Therefore, I invite everyone to participate in the discussion on this blog. Let's share thoughts, questions, or experiences. Because I believe that through the exchange of ideas, we can all learn and grow together.

Thank you for reading my introduction. I am excited to start this blogging journey with all of you!

Warm regards,

Natalia Sihombing
